Hi There I am about to get a 208H and i am trying to figure out what "gear" i need to get my 208H APRS ready (i realise i cant talk when APRS is running) - just want to use it when driving to/from work or keep an eye on my car when not near it .... What do i need to get/do to get the 208H ...

Not true - you can fly lower if you have low level approval....
They are not "normally' allowed lower than 500' AGL unless T/O or LDG or have low level approval

Was a training flight with only two onboard
sounds like practising V1 cuts. Maybe went below Vmca or incorrect ident of EFATO
will be interesting to see what comes of the report

sure is a good sign - however the problem is with the time the ACMA is taking - i was hoping to use my new call this weekend - however it is looking that maybe next year i can use it :?: Nothing on the ACMA register - seems weird that it taking so long from submission to completion..... 6wks seems a...

Just spoke to the WIA - apprently there is a backlog waiting to be processed at ACMA - so the turn around time could exceed 6wks.... Its been 2wks since i have got my paperwork from the WIA - and my desired call has disappeared from the public list - however just waiting on the ACMA to get the paper...

Interesting. It has been over one week since the wia has advised acma that I has passed and recommended my callsign (well that's what my letter said anyway) maybe I'll leave it a few days and then chase it up again with the wia and/or acma I want to use my standard call for the john moyal in the com...

Just received the paperwork from the WIA - however nothing on the ACMA website nor in the mail from them as yet ??!!??
God knows how long ACMA will take in processing the paperwork on their end.
The WIA claim that the paperwork was sent thru to the ACMA on the 3rd .... so - who knows ...

How long does it take for an upgraded licence (F-callto Standard) take (paperwork) ? I am yet to call the wia - just let it take its course - but wonder if there are any delays in the process ??? A few weeks ago now i passed the exam and still nothing on the net - nor in the mail - just paper pushin...

It was a turbine .... prob PT6 or alison ...
Propjet - no such thing ....
Try turboprop - turbine engine with a prop on it .....jets dont have props .....

Don't know where u got that info from. Our airline is headed from Nauru and Brisbane. The only thing with the solomons is that they route thru there.

so would i be right in saying (or guessing).. that provided the radio unit either has a gps in it/attached to it - the service of "WIRES/D-Star/APRS" are all the same function - just different names depending on the manufacturer??? whatever radio i choose - as long as it has "WIRES/D-...
