Even thou 121.5 may not be offically monitored - the ebribs that are out there (older style) will have still some coverage and being monitored - as the airliners typically monitor 121.5 (Guard). There are many ways in which the old 121.5 beacons could be tracked. Typically - an airliner would notice...

I got 706MkIIG - and i am wrapped with it I did consider the 857 - however i felt that the menus were a little hard to understand and the buttons small - especially for my mobile operation. I mainly use it for mobile - however it is easy to set up back at home for base operations. I am still getting...

G'day Again

From home - i cant access the local IRLP - will have to go mobile to do that - however i can hit a Echolink station

I cant find a Echolink node for Perth - or surrounding areas ... is there one ?

Found many for IRLP - but nothing for Echolink ....

Any tips ?

Recently i have purchased a Comet SBB-5 aerial for mobile operations. I 'think' this aerial is ground independent (hope so) and i am looking at mounting in the 4x4 for use with the 706MkIIG - i am lalso ooking around for a nice mobile HF aerial - so ideas would be appreciated on this part as well. 2500fpm is a fairly standard rate of climb for most jets - either in the 1st, 2nd segment and after the 4th segment on departure. Hope they do well on those runs. i also heard that they are going to start doing a run from Darwin to Bali. Looks as thou they are a growing company during these uncertain times especially in such a fickle industry.

TimS - it has nothing to do with "Licences" - what "Licence" does VB have ??!!?? The AOC that VB have - includes an aera international aoc - but cocos is not international - and even if it was - they could still fly up there. - soon you will be telling us that tasmania is interna...
