Re: DX reports (FM and repeaters)
G'day All, Great ducting up the West Coast this morning. Managed an APRS beacon from near Nerren Nerren back to RTH-3 with a hop of 542.7kms! . Equipment used was a Byonics MT-AIO and a Tri-Mag Mount base with a SG7500. Output on the MT-AIO is currently 21W. This was mobile whilst travelling northbo...

Re: APRS - part two
Many thanks to all the parties involved with the rollout of APRS infrastructure throughout W.A. It is certainly growing in popularity and is a great fun way of communicating! The Brand Hwy 'link' sounds very exciting and will prove an excellent resource for travellers and locals... 73's, Duncan - VK...

Re: APRS - spy on me while I drive
What do i need to get/do to get the 208H operational for APRS ?? Cheers Instead of tying up the 208H unnecessarily, why not get yourself one of these (See: http://www.bigredbee.com/blgps_2mhp.htm). They are a dedicated unit (TX & GPS in one), run all the time depending on wiring, are a set-and-...

Re: WA Amateur radio repeaters and beacons
G'day All,
VK6RPT, the portable 70cms repeater, is back operational at Walliston. 438.025MHz, -ve offset (5.0MHz split), no tone required.
Coverage is excellent considering it's only a 5W repeater!
Regards, Duncan - VK6GHZ

Re: Windows XP
Simply, do computer shops still sell windows XP :?: I've been given a piece of fairly expensive software, and it will only work (properly) on XP. I've tried to get it to work with Vista, and after consulting with the manufacturer, the license which I have does not allow me to have the Vista or 7 co...

Re: APRS - spy on me while I drive
Probably. It was mid afternoon from a poor location. The Hepburn looks hot over this week. G'day Rob, I think you will find this is fairly common for KSB-3. It has VERY good coverage from it's loaction both north and south and I have noticed a number of my packets in / around the City Block route v...

Anyone tape the interview of me on 720 ABC Radio this morning? I was interviewed at the viewing area shortly after the 'event' yesterday.

Re: a 737 Landing in Jandakot???
I guess its the 18th then, the one closest to the fence will be departing the following day to Jakarta, if/once the one going down to jandakot happens. I guess its due to the FAA playing games again! The maintenance crew who Nathan and I talked to said that it was likely a combination of the wind c...

Looks like a no-goer again! She is currently parked / locked up at PER with no GSE around her.
Try again tomorrow!
Cheers, Duncan.
