Re: Pictures from work

It happens too...Just last week I saw the dump hose coupling fail during the unload of a Virgin jet...the poor rampy fella got doused in it from the shoulders down. He then had the pleasure of picking up the "solids" with a shovel and bucket.....mmmm delicious.

Re: country freq

I would say your best bet is to go with the ones off the country freqs list but i can tell you that down here around Kwinana i regularly pick up 468.100 on an indoor antenna (from memory this one is in Jarrahdale), so give that one a go for starters.

Re: Ranger frequenies

I am not sure what one the rangers are on and chances are you have already grabbed these, but just in case you haven't, try scanning these. City of Swan frequencies: 163.5875 163.3625 163.7625 163.0375 I don't live near Swan but I work up that way and I'll have a listen when I am there and I'll let ...

Re: Ranger frequenies

Ive heard the Rocky rangers quite a few times this week using 470.800, so I would say this is thier common channel.

I dont think you'll find many businesses around Kirk that will actively do anything that assists thier competitors. Qantas are running an airline, not a friendship society, and they really have nothing to gain by lending anyone a hand. Thats just my cynical point of view anyway.

Stirling Rangers/Community patrols use trunk radios. I realise that they will be on other frequencies but at night I seem to recieve them almost exclusively on the one frequency - 416.9125 MHz. If you want to check for them on the other frequencies, the ones below are the outputs provided by the sam...

Kwinana ranger heard this afternoon on 151.2875MHz.
I have found that quite a few of the councils have the situation where the rangers and maintenance crews share the same channels so you may hear rangers on that frequency too. I haven't heard the Rocky rangers as yet today.

Yep...mostly the stuff that w_f mentioned , plus I have heard other stuff like the coordination of roadblocks to assist FESA around firegrounds and damage reporting during and after storms etc. Granted a lot of what you hear isn't terribly exciting but it can be an interesting way to learn about the...

They sound really good too, much improved reception especially when I am mobile in the car. Incidentally the 164.3500MHz frequency I have been hearing from time to time appears to be licenced to CALM and is sited at Canning Mills.

I hear the Rocky rangers all the time... the only problem is I can't remember which one of the following three frequencies is the one they use. So try scanning all three and see how you go. I'll keep an ear on them too and try and confirm which one it is for you. Try: 470.200mhz 470.500mhz 470.800mh...
