Re: New VHF channels
Thanks for the reply. Any permanently allocated to Metro?
Re: New VHF channels
There's 15 simplex fireground channels (for use anywhere), however, very few vehicles have the radios to use them yet.chopper wrote:Thanks for the reply. Any permanently allocated to Metro?
Re: New VHF channels
Question? My SES units vehicles have been fitted with the new FESA radios. We have the access to VHF and UHF. we have been told that we have the capability to use all the channels. does this mean that we could access the VHF channels that the firies use? just out of curiosity.

Re: New VHF channels
Any idea what the range of each repeater generally is? Would this new channel reach the metro area?vk6hgr wrote:New WAERN 6AR/6IP channel: Channel 317 164.8875MHz Guilderton (Seabird)

Re: New VHF channels
Probably not. This channel is part of the 6AR/6IP network, which are all linked together so you can just pick the 78/163MHz channel that's best for your area.yorky wrote:Any idea what the range of each repeater generally is? Re: New VHF channels
Anyone got any experience with reception near/down the coast from say Ocean Reef to the city? The usual channels are intermittent at the best of times I find I usually hover on 164.000 and the Red Hill one but both break up.

Re: New VHF channels
There's a WAERN allocation for Scarborough but I dunno if it's active yet. Otherwise, the best channel for that area is probably ch51 on the old system.yorky wrote:Anyone got any experience with reception near/down the coast from say Ocean Reef to the city?
Failing that, there's always the Internet stream...
