Can you rephrase that, do you mean 190 thousand feet as in 190,000 FT or 19 thousand feet, 19,000 also spoken as FL190

if the first, space shuttles need only worry

Yeah, I wondered about what the controller said, these are the words severe iceing between 190 and 10, I think it was meant to be 19-10, my wife said that didnt make sence when we both heard the original convo ? jj

WUN ZERO THOUSAND FT A100

As the transition layer is 10,000 Ft every thing above that is expressd as a Flight Level including the Transition Layer, every thing below that is expressed as a Alitude, and shown as A090 or spoken as Niner Thousand Feet

Remember all Altitudes are expressed in tens of thousands, or 3 digits

9000 can be used, its just said as Niner Thousand

How ever the non use of Flight Level before 130, is non standard Phraseology, all Phraseolgy terms can be found on the airservices web site, in the ERSA (Enroute Supplement Australia)

Ch 9 news, reports Chopper crash with 8 on board crashed into sea off Derby, sank in 30 metres water, 80 yr old woman needed to be resusitated all safely out of Chopper, no futher info at this time, 1802

GWN @ 5:30 reported one in Broome Hospital with the helo crash. The Bell 206? helo, from a cruise ship, sank 30m to the bottom of Talbot Bay.
