Yaesu have released a new tri bander model up from the 7R http://www.yaesu.com/indexVS.cfm?cmd=Di ... Archived=0

Looks pretty spiffy. Monitor VHF, UHF and broadcast at the same time. Bluetooth, APRS, Optional GPS, temp/pressure/altitude, 16 digit alphanumeric tags, waterproof

It's a very nice looking rig!

Too bad they're pushing analogue APRS instead of D-Star though (which does everything APRS can do as well as digital voice)

Hey, it's got WIRES though ;-) Looks like the bluetooth is optional. It can use a cradle for recharging.. something the 3R is lacking. Also, 6m AM... does 6m get used for AM in VK?

Hopefully this might mean more things will start heading downwards in price.
