Anybody know where VK6RPT is located at present? I have a feeling it was somewhere near Katanning a while back? I heard it ident and was wondering.

Hi Rob:

It was moved from K-town about a month ago and has been in transit back to Perth.

You can start out simple, like a 2M all mode radio and 5 element yagi for example and build up from there. I'm now at the stage of 2M/70cm.23cm all mode radio & 9 elements on 2M, 20 elements on 70cm & 45 elements on 23cm.

I'll be starting from scratch... moving house in a few weeks so step one is going to be just getting a vertical up for FM on VHF and UHF :-( The rest will have to follow in time. At least I already have an all mode 2m/70cm radio :-)

Did I see VK6LUX-9 on APRS last night?

Indeed you did, via software on my iPhone so I don't know if it really counts ;-)

The Mount Barker repeater is S2 in Perth. I just had a QSO with VK6YAU mobile Albany and VK6WX.

Mt Barker repeaters is S2 and noisey with me tonight. Also a couple of locals apparently had a QSO via VK6REX Exmouth repeater. I did not hear it myself. It was reported on the logger. I did not realise it was operational but apparently is. Something else to listen out for. (146.850MHz)

Perth 2m and 70cm beacons very audible and about S4 on my vertical and Mt Barker 2m beacon just audible and visible on Spectran. Memo to myself, self, you must put up a yagi sometime.

From a less than optimal location south of Bunbury today (mobile) - I was listening to VK6RLM, could not get back in, but could understand what was being said. Could also hear the internet link on 146.575, not sure where that is being broadcast from but it was clear.

On the UHF CB band I was able to access 476.475 (CH 3 Nannup) as well as 2x channel 6 repeaters on 476.550, one in Dunsborough and another somewhere further up north, can't remember it's exact location... perhaps Shark Bay?

Also another Channel 1 UHF CB repeater. The only UHF CB rig I have is a 5w chinese handheld, with a mag base on the roof of the car - so not too bad really when you think about it!
