Path Transit/SCT-Veolia/Swan Transit changes

Post by yorky »

So reading around it seems Path now only operate Morley and Bayswater, with Southern Coast Transit taking over Wangara, Joondalup and Nowergup.

As per this post http://warsug.info/viewtopic.php?p=91311#p91311 470.375Mhz may now be used, and I heard Morley still on the old Path channel 2 today.

If anyone has further info on the changes and boundaries plus what frequencies are used, post away!

PATH retain 490.4500 as Channel 2 for the Morley and Bayswater Depots.

Swan Take on 470.3750 as Channel 5 for Karrinyup Depot (Marmion Contract)

The new freq. for Veolia Transdev Joondalup and Wangara (Wanneroo Contract) has not been found yet. If anyone finds it, please do share.
6ST Base is clear, is there a mobile calling on this channel?

Is SCT Southern Coast Transit the same as Swan Transit?

Both different, Southern Coast Transit are part of Veolia Transdev (which I believe soon they will be named only Veolia Transdev and the SCT banner will be fased out), sWAn transit are part of Transit Systems Australia.

So with the Change over with contracts how will affect Transperth security? As I was aware they had radios what interacted with Karrinyup/Joondalup/Morley.

I heard yesterday a security car furiously trying to contact Karrinyup on the old channel...

So here is what we have so far:

490.000 Not sure if this is used yet, reported on another forum as Path (yet to hear anything on this and its a different ACMA assignment).
490.500 Veolia Transdev/Southern Coast Transit channel 1 (Joondalup). They also operate Nowergup and Wangara depot.
490.450 Path Transit old channel 2 (Morley, the only remaining unchanged channel). Path operate Bayswater depot as well.
470.375 Swan Transit (Karrinyup).

So we've gone from having two Path channels to listen to crystal clear, to at least three different companies :-"

Thanks heap for that information yorky :D .

I herd a Tango vehicle ask Bravo 1 for the new channel and the reply was ask 6ST base on Welshpool channel
so a lot of confusion for Transperth security.

I'm hearing what sounds like 'Success to base' or similar then the bus/operator calling Karrinyup, anyone know what that means as I only hear it from some buses voice?

As Karrinyup depots now operated by sWAn transit, maybe "6 (S)wan (T)ransit base"? thats what i've always thought.

Ross.

6ST is the Callsign for Swan Transit Operations Rooms. (eg: Mobile 1357 to 6ST Shenton Park over). One would assume the full callsign is VL6ST (Like VL6MT, the Radio Room callsign in the MTT days)
6ST Base is clear, is there a mobile calling on this channel?
