will scannas and the tait 2000 be able to pick up the new channels?

Tait - no, unless you have a T2020 programmed for the frequencies. In the forseeable future the existing repeaters may (will?) be linked to the repeaters on the new frequencies.

Scanners - most scanners cover the new frequencies so you shouldn't have any problems receiving them.

What sort of radios are these - there are a few different ones there - the yellow - the green and I think a few others... What model/brand are they?

Yellow Tait TM-8250 = VHF High & UHF
Green Tait TM-8250 = VHF High & VHF Mid
Tait T2020 = VHF Mid (generally, I'm not sure what SES uses)

UHF- either 2000's or the last lot were 2020's, however Stirling's Cliff Rescue Vehicle is fitted with a black 8250 on UHF. All new vehicles will be fitted with 8250's as well.

Certainly do.
Just for clarification on the different Mic's.
Mic to the right of the yellow radio - PA System
Mic to the left of the car stereo - Yellow radio
Mic to the right of the car stereo - Green radio
Mic above and to the right of the car stereo (rectangular with yellow) HF Radio.
Siren and light controls on dash to right of driver.

By the way - if anyone tries to sell you a green or yellow head Tait TM-8260 then you KNOW it's stolen. Tait will only sell the "coloured" radios to FESA.

The radios tend to get reused.. taken out of the prior vehicle and put into another.
