but what gets me is that police have been using radios since about the 70s? and only no they dicide to go suddenly at the drop of a hat, to by the sounds of it , military grade encryption!
Don't think it was at the drop of a hat, its been on the cards for years but dropped before because funding went else were (obviously this new network costs a bucket load having to replace almost everything in the metro area).
We have been lucky to be able to listen in at all the last few years that they didn't go digital.
country area will not be going digital for a fair while due to the cost of upgrading the equipment to ditigal is very costly.they have beening testing in bunbury.i have pick them up on the new digital freqs 502 - 504 mhz range.its been unencrypted.

well thats a relif, at least i can still hear whats goin on in this town.
heard VKI tonight give a couple of jobs going out saying you should have them on your screen but didnt give out any job details over the air :S then the cars said they receievd the details and that was it :S
