Does anyone know a place that installs radios for a relatively cheap price? I have two radios that need to be installed. One is a UHF with a remote head and a scanner.

install it yourself, put the set under the passenger seat and the remote head on the console and scanner side-mounted on the console, all you need is power and an arieal.

With the wires. Red to red ra ra ra - google wiring diagram/pin outs for connectors. If it starts ticking cut the red wire.

Maybe I should have been more specific. I know red to red etc but where in the car do I hook it up? Where do I connect the red to? I have a nissian xtrail.

Google the wiring diagram for the model - it will show the pinout for the connector. Joint the cables as per the diagram. At the minimum you will need power (+12VDC and 0V, making sure it is fused) and aerial also. You may also have options for acc, selcall alert etc. There is nothing mystical about it but if you cock up it could cost you.

Power supply is usually a red wire (+) with a plastic fuse holder (fusable link) and a black wire (-) coming from the fuse box or alternative power/battery supply etc., (just like what runs into the back of car radio's, cd players etc.)
Go to an auto sparky and get them to install it for you, it's relatively cheap, safe and you can get cuppa's in the waiting room.
