Re: Unable to hear Transperth Command anymore?
Which part of the network is LTE? Busses are operated privately, of which they have almost? all changed to digital. However I thought these were trunks not LTE. Bus security is separate again. Trains and Transit Officer/customer service is still analogue. This will be changed to LTE in coming years.

Short answer, yes. Long answer, yes but you need an amateur license to posses the device.

Re: FESA Channel 230
When I was poking at a DFES radio that channel didn't appear to be programmed into the new 400Mhz zone. Could be wrong, I don't even know what its used for.

Re: trunking systems in Perth
Not a lot to listen to these days, some stuff has changed with little known on the info and some to digital and/or encrypted. Some things the scanner is not able to track.
Freescan and conventional single frequencies on the 396t is a breeze, I haven't done trunks though.

First I've seen it so nothing I can really say. Expensive but so was the 396 brand new.

Re: New DFES UHF channels discussion
Can you elaborate on new UHF channels?
Yes that's correct about offset, but respectfully I would not like the CTCSS tone publicly known.

Re: Streaming DFES scanner audio
Can't seem to get anything off the direct link for the main 6IP/6AR (running, no sound), and broadcastify doesn't find the stream.

Re: Transport Companies
Depends, some company's might lease or rent a radio system so hard to search ACMA database. Otherwise try searching some licensee details I can find the link later if you can't.

Re: Could this be programed to listen to Dfes?
Looking at the specs yes it should.
However legally speaking, do you have an Amateur Radio license? This radio would not be legal to use in Australia without one, and won't be legal to use on UHF CB channels without the appropriate certification (and the fact you can do more than 5W output!).

Re: WiFi interference at train stations
You can check the ACMA database for registered transmitters. There are all sorts of wireless things at stations including for radios, possibly some passenger assistance systems (although most might be cabled?), and the trains video system is over "wifi" but I don't know what frequency or s...

Re: VHF-Mid Band Use
It's still useful. Yes Some areas mid band can be better than high band but that's a topographical thing. Main use is sector channels, where the control channel is now almost always high band it's easier to have mid band sector channels. This is because most appliances have one high band and one mid...

I'm probably being naughty in saying this but no, ESA and ESB will be replaced by C and D.

I think somewhere in there you mean ESC and ESD 220 and 221?
