Re: General fire discussions
Quite correct Fastlane, but tomorrow is only rated as "high" up here in the hills so in theory there could be permit burns, although I can not see it being approved to light up. Hope everyone has a quite one tomorrow. Didn't last. It's SEVERE for Metro Coast and Hills now. Updated at 9:47...

You can't burn on Very High or above anyway. It's prohibited under the Bush Fires Regulations 1954.

Re: W.A Fire Appliances
It's a standby appliance. Light tanker behind as the SET crew is 4 personnel but the old SET01 is single cab.gkoutlis wrote:Noticed on William Street and St.Georges Tce this morning an older styled S.E.T and a LT waiting at the lights.
Just curious, is it still being used? Or is it for training purposes?

Re: Train Chaos Tonight
I just spent 20 mins waiting outside a locked train with a heap of other people, boards flashing 1 min until departure. Seems the driver had gone awol. Took that long for someone to realise and track him down!
Trains still delayed from this morning... This won't help!

Re: W.A Fire Appliances
The new BFS LT's look really good the Brigade next to mine just got a new one and the light bars are very interesting to watch. One thing I noticed they have got a module for the foam so that you dont get foam in the tank. eh? A foam inductor? If so, the vehicles have had them for a long time now. ...

Re: Helitac and Water Bomber frequencys (WA)
They default to Chan 23 in the Metro Area. They'll only go to a Simplex channel if the fixed wing bombers (or other Helitacs) are already using that frequency at another fire.

Catastrophic is FDI of 100+.
Interestingly, Victoria (already) has dropped Catastrophic and is using the phrase "Code Red" only now, as Catastrophic scares the tourists... !
