If it's still doing it when I get home, I'll flick the stream from ch380 to ch57 or ch25.
I wonder if they've de-linked 6AR and 6IP? That's the other possibility.

Re: Streaming DFES scanner audio

I think the 6AR/6IP network might be having a few issues today with repeater linking.

Listening to the online stream, I'm hearing the comcen and some appliances, but not others. Sounds like some of the repeater-to-repeater links might be down but repeater-to-comcen still up. That's my guess anyway.

Third alarm bushfire in Avon Valley National Park. Haven't gotten a precise location yet but the location given for the turnouts was McKnoe Drive in Morangup which has the national park on its border.

Re: Other incidents/minor fires etc - 2014/2015

Success FRS just turned out to a DBA at number 20 Stockton Bend in Cockburn Central. This amused me as I'm pretty sure that Comcen already knew that they were coming... http://www.dfes.wa.gov.au/contactus/pages/dfesoffices.aspx#headoffice Plus you could hear the whoop-whoop building alarms in the ba...

Re: General fire discussions

All I heard (I wasn't near the scanner much at the time) is that there was around $3k's worth of damage and the fire was an electrical fault of some kind.

Re: New rules on 3rd alarm fires

Interesting info and thanks for sharing. I guess it's an attempt to standardise the response to a fire of a certain classification. Much like a Zone 2 or 2A response, you just know that a certain level of turnout will be initiated.

From Lakes Control - fire has jumped the Great Southern Highway and is heading towards the BGC quarry. Aerial units have so far been unable to stop the head fire and there is spotting some distance ahead.

A further ten appliances are being requested.

Re: Other incidents/minor fires etc - 2014/2015

Update from The Lakes. Classified as a second alarm scrub fire. Size is 4-5 hectares of jarrah scrub and growing. Location is about 400m from yesterday's fire, burning on the southern side of Great Southern Highway. Resources already mobilised should be sufficient at this stage. Time to control is a...
