Re: Scanner Users Chat Room
i think you arfe being negative,we all know that there is already another chat room online but whats wrong with another one?,sometimes its best to put up AND shutup My intention was not to be negative, just to point out that there's a perfectly good, functioning chat room already there (and it's be...

Re: police pursuits
why is it ok,for police to respond priority 2 and go through red lights etc. etc yet in a chase situation it is not ok? Perhaps it's because in a priority 2 response, the police are the only ones going through red lights. In a pursuit, the car being chased may be more inclined to take extra risks s...

Re: Scanner Users Chat Room
Hey Guys and Gals.I have made a chatroom for radio scanner users. While not wanting to dampen anyone's enthusiasm, don't forget that the #radioscanner channel (or chat-room if you prefer that term) is always active on the Austnet IRC network. All you need is an IRC client (mIRC for Windows springs ...

Re: Western australia Police Digital switch over
There's no such thing as can't, *especially* when it comes to nerds and people not wanting them to do something. It just depends how many people want to listen, and how badly they want to listen. However there does come a point where the "nerds" will run out of resources. If the encryptio...

Re: Poll: Security on Trains
I'm split between choices 2 and 3. I think the WA Police should have ultimate responsibility, but there's no reason why they can't have private guards as well. In the end I picked "2"vk6hgr wrote:Tell us what you think about what should happen with security on our trains...

Yeah... I think read something similar, too. Problem is if we have a big natural disaster etc then we have 3 (or 4 if you count SES) emergency services that can only talk to each other via their bases, and even those talk to each other over the phone. At least the SES and WAPOL have a couple of com...

I think the main reason they want the priority status is so they can get through traffic to attend to incidents on the freeway. Fair enough, that makes sense I guess... This may be a silly question though but can't they just put their orange flashing lights on and go up the emergency lane to get pa...

Radios in car
A couple of months ago I got rid of ye olde Falcon and upgraded to a newer one. So before trading, I got rid of all the radio gear out of the car and it's all sitting in plastic bags in the "junk room" at home. I think it's time to start putting some stuff back into my new car, but I want ...

Re: re wa scanning chatroom
Well, there's this forum and the IRC channel already... Agreed. In my opinion neither resource is being used as much as it could be, so muddying the waters even further by having yet another forum wouldn't be a good thing. Did you have anything in particular in mind, Scott, when you suggested Yahoo...
