From what I understand of the software on these radios the only bandwith limitation is your antenna..so in theory I suppose the answer would be yes considering UHF CB is not far from the current analogue UHF network band.

The network will always be backward compatible to analogue so you just flick a switch so to speak and back on the 468MHZ bandwith for your country trips etc. The radios are actually more compatible for cross agency operations with FESA, SES etc. They have actually got the emergency "A" and...

Quite right Gav, the digi worked perfectly last night, except that we were in a district that has not gone over to the dark side yet  My guess is that everyone will be 'over' by end of summer and then they will throw the switch. Walks. Thanks Walks :) . As i have said in previous posts, there...

It is the transmission. That was a line trundled out when we had V8's. Personally I think it is just an excuse by those that cannot drive. With the VT Gen III with 15 inch steelies you knew it was coming so you dealt with it. Does not apply to the current Fords or Commodore V8's with ESP, traction,...

In terms of actual policing skills and investigative ability, state police agencies are far superior to the the AFP. Unfortunately due to it's role and history the AFP is filled with paper pushing academics. If you would like to spend 3 years working on one fraud case where you will never speak to b...

That job code list is unfortunately outdated. For example a :316 is no longer a fatal, it is now a tow job 126 is a pursuit (but see below) 327 is a business premises alarm 330 is a house alarm 701 is a LOTBKF for an armed robbery only (again see below) The best way to understand the job codes is to...

However i still personally see the cadets going straight into the police force at 19 as being a bad idea.
You are not the lone ranger there. Concern has always been expressed about the entry age but I spose you have to start somewhere.

I think cadets are a great idea. I finally have someone to make coffee and run my errands for me. They are not a new idea. Cadets were the norm until 1995 then stopped by the Commissioner of the time. You will find a large proportion of WAPOL were cadets at some stage or another. They only perform a...
