Sneak peak at Mk VI Merc

Post by ZO100_marto »

For those who haven't seen here's some pics of the Mk VI. There is still some very minor changes been made but this is pretty close to the end product, word is there is 6 near completion.

Now holds 2 x D and 2 X C o2 bottles and the scoop no longer needs to be folded over.

Now has a electric step and better grab handles.
Image

Better lighting for cannulation and heavy duty rails to hold onto.
Image

The rear work seat also now slides forward towards the pt.
Image

No more cutting holes in the side of the vehicle for the lights.

Also they have gone away from fibreglass moulds as you can see in the top pic, all alloy sheets now.

The new step is fully electronic and you can't close the door or drive off with it out as its programmed in with the vehicles CPU.

Here's some pic's of the current step which as far as I'm aware only Kalgoorlie has installed as there ain't to many curbs round here.

God that would be the worst job ever having to use the teddybear.

Yes trying to give the kid a teddy without looking like a complete tool

Im wondering even though as good as LED's are how visible the trucks will be from the side, it looks like they only have one 6 led module on the side near the rear door.

And no oscilaser gees...whats in the grill LED ?

If they're anywhere near as good as the LEDs on NSW ambulances, then nothing to worry about.

What is an oscilaser? The current grille lights they have on ambulances (the rotating ones)? They suck BIG time, never seen something so farkin stupid.

IMHO Ambulances should only have one stretcher. Anyhting else is non emergency patient transport.

2 Stretcher if needed, fold the chairs down and use a scoop. Generally though it is easier to have a second crew.

2 queries...

1) In the first picture, is that a fridge I can see where the sliding door is open? For medications, etc, I guess?

2) There's a phone on the wall in one of the pics - is that to speak with the driver or has some type of 'mobile phone' capacity?

It is a pity it can't take more than two patients, meaning like a walking wounded as well. It would definately reduce some of the workload you guys already have, and save depots being unmanned for call outs that aren't even in their designated area :(
